Basketball season is now over and we are on to baseball. Kameron and Kallan played basketball and had great seasons. Britton is the only one playing baseball and tryouts were yesterday for Major League, so we should know today or tomorrow if he made it. We sure love watching the kids play ball!

How to Create a Password
Kameron was playing a game on the computer and needed a password. The instructions said that it needed to be 5 characters long. After being frustrated that it wasn't working, Paul came over to help him out. The problem was that his 5 characters just weren't working. Here are the 5 characters: Sleepy Fish, Big Bubbles, Magic Cheetah, Hyper Skunk, and Jumping Cheetah.
Yes, we are still laughing. But now you all know how to create a really good password!

Kameron's first place story
A week or so ago Kameron was working on writing a story. He was at the counter writing and reading it to his dad. I could hear he and Paul talking about ideas as he wrote the story. I thought it was for his class and noticed he was taking his time and doing a good job. Last week he said, "Mom, can you help me type this story? I have to turn it in tomorrow." So I helped him type it up. The next morning he called me from the school and said, "Mom! I need you to come up and sign my story so they know I wrote it." He mentioned something about Reflections. I talked to the secretary and found out that he had, indeed, entered the Reflections competition all by himself.
The other day, we got a phone call telling us that we needed to be at the Assembly on Friday morning because Kameron was getting an award. Since we were leaving, we had to send Grandma Vicki and Tiffany to take pictures. I just called home and he got a first place ribbon and gets to move on. There may have been only 6 enteries, but I am so proud of him that he did it by himself. Congrats, Kam on doing such a great job and having initiative!
Perhaps I'll be able to post the story later. Signing off from the airport in New York.......

Paul's first SEP
On the Thursday of my seminar, I asked Paul if he would help me by going to Kameron's SEP. This is the first one he's attended out of 7 children and years of them. Usually, they're a pretty simple experience. I'm just glad he was there this time to have the full experience.
The teacher asked about setting goals in reading and writing. For the reading goal, the teacher asked Kameron if he could read 20 minutes each night. He said, "well, my dad grounded my brother for 2 1/2 hours one night. So if I get grounded, I can just go up in my room and read."
So during the writing goal, the teacher asked, "what could your dad do to help you reach this goal?" He said, "I don't know if he can help me that much cuz he's on his laptop all the time."
All I can do is laugh and laugh! It's stinking time that he had to go through this! This must be one of those gifts that come back to you.......

Football
Kallan, Britton, and Kameron all had their first games on Saturday. It was fun to watch them play. It was a very hot day out, but they all did great! I think Kallan and Britton's teams lost in close games. Kameron's team won, but he didn't get to play very much.

Missionary Prep at the Webster's
A couple of weeks ago, Kameron was talking to Paul about getting a Ninetendo DS or a PSP so he would have it to take on his mission. Paul told him that they couldn't have those on their mission. He said that he would only play it when he was sitting around and on P-days. We laughed and laughed and worried whether he would still think it was okay to go on a mission even if you can't take a Ninetendo DS.
Well, a couple of nights ago, Kameron was wondering if he could buy a laptop on his mission. Paul told him, "It probably depends on the mission at the time you go." And told him that right now they can't have them. Kameron said, "I mean like when I'm ready to come home. Like when I'm at the airport waiting for a couple of hours for my flight to leave."
Isn't this the truest test of Missionary Prep? Really, it does my heart good to know that he is really planning on a mission AND coming home since he already has the airport figured out. Certainly we will be able to come up with SOMETHING he can take on his mission! ;o)

Kameron
Since I am just beginning to blog, I have decided to post about each of the kids during the last couple of weeks.
Kameron was baptized on May 31. Jadon baptized him. True to Webster Form, we arrived at the church a half and hour early and found out that they changed the baptism times. We quickly began filling the font, then called around to find the high councilman to get permission to do our own baptism. I told Paul he could give one talk and I would give the other. We had Wes play the piano, Jadon sing a song, Tiffany and Grandma Vicki give prayers and Aunt Sue lead the music. We pulled it off in a few minutes-- only running ten minutes behind our scheduled time of 4:30. It turned out to be a beautiful baptism and Kameron was really happy.
Kam also finished up baseball this week. I had the time down wrong for his last game, so he only caught the last fifteen minutes. The game before, however, he hit a grand slam. He was SO excited! His coaches started calling him "Grand Slam Kam!" What a great title!
Now he is just helping pick squash and practicing piano since they have lessons during the summer.
He has also started scouts and is VERY excited to go! He has already earned his Bobcat award and kept on me until I got all the badges and right things sewn on his shirt!
